Hello, School is back in session and buyers are refocusing on their home searches. Whether you plan on moving in the next six month or just want your home to be a show stopper for you and others to enjoy, here are 5 FALL SHOWSTOPPER TIPS that you can do right now to make your home shine. SHOW STOPPER #1 Spruce up your front entry: Your front entry is the welcome center for visitors! Clear away the cobwebs. Sand and repaint your railings and door, if needed. Make sure to remove any rust or peeling paint before you add your new color! While you are out there, go ahead and secure all railings. If your steps are brick, caulk cracks or repoint any masonry to seal them from further moisture damage. SHOW STOPPER #2 Trim your trees: Make sure to cut back any tree that is touching your roof or house. This contact can cause damage and deteriorate your shingles. Remove tree seedlings growing next to a foundation or trees with roots affecting a foundation. SHOW STOPPER #3 Annual deck maintenance: Do yearly maintenance on your deck to make sure it lasts. Remove debris build up on and in the cracks of the deck, trapping in moisture. Clean your deck thoroughly and reseal it to keep it looking its best. SHOW STOPPER #4 Attractive Lighting: Good lighting can attract the “Oohs and Ahhs” like a moth to a flame. For safety as well as curb appeal, light your entry walkway. Add solar or low voltage lighting to illuminate dark places around the exterior of your home. SHOW STOPPER #5 Driveway Entry: Seal cracks in the driveway now to prevent moisture from getting in and causing more expressive repairs later. We see the above issues often called out on inspections.
