Hillsboro is within walking distance of Old Town Helena’s Depot Deli and Grill, local boutiques and Buck Creek. Buck Creek is a 17.3-mile-long branch of the Cahaba River that was used to supply water power for manufacturing and industry during the 19th century. You’ll often see families splashing or having a picnic at the base of the Buck Creek’s dam. Buck Creek is a great place to fish and canoe. Not far from Old Town you can rent a canoe to Canoe The Cahaba. Buck Creek borders Helena’s Old Town Amphitheater Park, home of the Buck Creek Festival. Buck Creek Festival is a free community event that takes place on the second weekend in May on the banks of Buck’s Creek. There is great food, music, children’s activities, and all ages crafts.
Hillsboro currently has 3,600 acres for development and recreational use. There are plans to increase the number of homes, trails, and parks and garden areas in phase two.

The average sales price in Hillsboro is $298,000 with a range between $374,500 for larger family homes and $212,900 for the smaller garden homes. The average cost per square foot currently averages $125 based on all sales in the neighborhood. The smaller garden homes, ranging in size of 1,400 - 1,900 sq. ft. The time on the market averages 94 days; however, new construction can skew the days on market, build times factoring into the equation. Five, four and three bedroom plans are available for every sized family from the newly married with no children, to the empty nesters and those bursting at the seams and still growing. The age of homes in the neighborhood range from 2007 to the homes currently being constructed.
